Explore Lihue Farmers Market
There is not one Lihue farmers market. There are three! Every Monday at 3 p.m., Kukui Grove hosts a small one in their parking lot. Every Friday, about 35 farmers sell at the county sponsored Lihue farmers market held at Vidinha Stadium at 3 p.m. This year, readers of The Garden Island newspaper voted the Kauai Community Market the best farmers market in Kauai.
The Kauai Community Market is held every Saturday at the Kauai Community College starting at 9:30 a.m. The private market is a partnership between the college and the Kauai County Farm Bureau. The table for Kauai Humane Society and Barkaroo Bakery is the first one you’ll pass when entering the Lihue farmers market.
Many visitors adopt dogs to take home and residents buy their four-legged kids tasty treats made with Kauai grown produce. You’ll find locally-grown and roasted coffee, butter-crust pies bursting with tropical fruit, hand-made jams as well as fruit, vegetables and plants. Music plays over a sound system and about five food trucks sell hot breakfast and lunch.
